فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَا ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍ

As-Saffat: 11

"Then inquire of them: are they a stronger creation or those We have created? Indeed, We created them from a sticky clay."

For centuries, 'created from clay' was read as a dignifying image for humble origins. Then science caught up.
